Application suspension notice email from twitter

If you’re using twitter developer tools for 1.1 free tier you must have received this application suspension notice email

Hello,
This is a notice that your app has been suspended from accessing the Twitter API. Please visit developer.twitter.com to sign up to our new Free, Basic or Enterprise access tiers. More information can be found on our developer community forums.

You received this email because Twitter has chosen to completely shut down the v1.1 API by the end of the next month. The Standard 1.1 is advertised as being free with the new tiers, but it’s not clear if that will still be the case. Do they realize that media upload endpoints are only in v1.1, despite Twitter’s claim that it wants all developers utilizing its api to be on v2? According to Twitter, access to the advertisements API and “low level usage” will cost $100 per month. Only 100,000 people in the US have Twitter Blue subscriptions, according to the data. That sort of demonstrates how people feel about Twitter’s new business model.

Simply transferring everyone to the new free plan will ensure that their app settings are kept and not lost for those who choose not to upgrade their subscription. But Twitter hardly ever responds to these queries. Since Twitter app developers generate value for Twitter, in my humble view, access to the Twitter API should be free. Twitter will suffer more if this happens than creators will.
