The story of Nova Studio’s establishment is as unique as its ambiance. Once upon a time, Vina Records reigned supreme as the only recording studio in the northern region of Kwale. However, its expensive rates made it inaccessible to many aspiring musicians. Recognizing this gap and fueled by a spirit of innovation and camaraderie, my parents and a group of like-minded hippy friends, including the legendary Salavesca, embarked on a mission to create an affordable and welcoming alternative. Within a mere six months, Nova Studio was born, providing a sanctuary for touring musicians who journeyed from Nairobi, Malindi, and Mombasa to record their musical masterpieces.
From its humble beginnings, Nova Studio has evolved and expanded, yet it has retained its intimate and familial atmosphere. Over the years, it has become a favorite destination for a diverse array of talents, from rappers to vocalists, who are drawn to its authentic charm and top-notch facilities. The studio is now home to some of the best local musicians and producers who are passionate about nurturing and showcasing talent.
