It’s important to note that this project remains firmly in its early stages, and significant obstacles stand between the current agreements and an operational power plant. Any future nuclear power project would require years of planning, financing, regulatory development, and construction before becoming operational, and observers have noted that substantial technical, financial, and institutional challenges remain before Burkina Faso could realistically generate electricity from nuclear power.
